What is Bikes in Schools?
We partner with schools to help students get active and enjoy biking regularly on school grounds. It involves a complete biking package with gear at discounted rates, so all kids get to experience the joy of biking.
What can Torpedo7 supply?
- A fleet of 30 to 50 new good quality bikes (which typically come in four sizes)
- A good quality bike helmet for every student
- Service and maintenance packages
- Other required bike accessories and parts
What gear is included in a Bike Fleet?
A typical fleet of 50 bikes for a school consists of the following but can vary depending on specific year-level ratios.
- 15 x 18-inch bikes
- 15 x 20-inch bikes
- 15 x 24-inch bikes
- 5x adult step-thru bikes or 5x small adult mountain bikes
For intermediate schools, a fleet makeup is likely to require a smaller range of sizes than a primary school, with a mix of 24-inch and small adult bikes recommended. We also strongly recommend purchasing 2 to 3x small balance bikes for those students who may not be confident on pedal bikes.
And finally, a secondary school fleet generally consists of up to 25 to 30 mountain bikes, which include:
- 10x XS/S adult hardtail mountain bikes
- 10x M/ML adult hardtail mountain bikes
- 10x L/XL adult hardtail mountain bikes
Plus, to ensure your bikes remain in good condition, all our bike fleets come with a free six-week safety check and discounted onsite servicing packages which can be carried out twice per annum.
