Feelings Monsters are a new initiative from Microsoft that allows students to express their emotions effectively on Microsoft Teams for Education. This is an invaluable feature at a time when teachers are increasingly concerned about emotional wellbeing.
With home learning having become a regular state of affairs in most schools, keeping real-time emotional connections with students can be tricky, and when a teacher can’t gauge wellbeing, it’s harder to keep students engaged. These cute, animated monsters allow children to easily identify how they’re feeling and communicate in a safe, non-verbal way – much as they would with subtle cues like facial expressions or body language in the classroom. This gives teachers valuable data and powerful insights into the students’ wellbeing.
