The big WHY
“Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination.”
– Fitzhugh Dodson
When it comes to technology integration, there are some huge decisions and investments to be made. But if you don’t base these on the right strategic foundation, the technology you end up with might not deliver on your required outcomes.
WHY is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself when you’re looking to integrate new technology into your school or classroom. To break this down further, you might like to consider some of the following questions to develop your vision:
- Why is digital teaching and learning important to your school and what are you hoping it will achieve?
- What skills and mindsets do you want to nurture in your students?
- How do you think technology will enhance teaching and learning at all levels?
- How do you plan to facilitate remote learning in an equitable way?
All these questions ladder up to your big WHY and will help you articulate your digital vision. You should then be able to look at WHAT technology will help you achieve your goals and HOW you can achieve your vision with the right enablers and partnerships.
